The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) at the University of Houston is a non-profit organization that strives to bring together chemical engineering students for networking, professional development, peer bonding, and academic enrichment. AIChE succeeds in connecting people through general meetings, social events, conferences, the Chem-E-Car team, the outreach committee, and our brand new charter school committee.
We believe students in chemical engineering are more likely to succeed in the program if they have solid relationships within the department and university.
The goals and objectives of the chapter is to:
- Promote the professional development of its members through its programs and by its relations with its own members, faculty, with other organizations and student chapters and with the parent body, American Institute of Chemical Engineers
- Establish a professional standard of conduct and draw its members from those who subscribe to this standard
- Contribute to the development of chemical engineering at the University of Houston through activities involving the faculty and all classes of student members
- Promote membership through various activities with the organization and provide forums where its members may meet with their colleagues to discuss mutual interest and problems
- Metwork with professionals in industry and academia
The UH student chapter of AIChE is part of a global professional organization, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. The AIChE Vision and Mission statements are as follows:
